GODDARD, Jack

1906 - 1984

Jack Goddard was born at Lowestoft, Suffolk on 1 December 1906, son of James William (or William James) Goddard (8 March 1871-1948), a house painter, and his wife Catherine née Harvey (11 August 1881-1983), who married at Lowestoft in 1903. In 1911, Jack was a 4-year-old, living at 26 Lorne Road, Lowestoft with his parents 39-year-old William James Goddard and 29-year-old Catherine, with his elder sibling, 7-year-old Dorothy Goddard. Educated at Lovewell School, Kirkley, Lowestoft and, on his admittance in 1912, his birth year is given as 1907. He married at Lowestoft in 1934, Trixie Bridgeman Nora Eugene Mothersole (1903-1995). In 1939, a pork butcher, living at 215 London Road South, Lowestoft, with his wife Trixie, who was born at Mildenhall, Suffolk. A member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle 1946-1958 from Pakefield, Lowestoft, and exhibited with the Lowestoft Art Group at St John's Church Hall in 1960 'Angel Hill, Bury St Edmund's'. Jack Goddard died at 258 London Road South, Lowestoft on 16 March 1984.
